Heads Up: Window Unit Air Conditioners Strike

If you've ever walked through crowded metropolis, you will notice the number of window-unit air conditioners perched on window ledges many floors above the city sidewalks. While most all of them are firmly secured in place, there are a few that could stand to have another look by an air conditioner repair professional. For one New York City resident, one close encounter with an air conditioner left him grateful to be alive. As 67-year-old Vietnam War vet Anthony Franzese was lounging in a chair outside his apartment one afternoon, one such loose air conditioner fell from the window of his apartment building, broke through a local wine-bar awning, and struck him. The man reportedly escaped the freak accident with minor injuries, but that didn't keep the owner of the air conditioner from feeling terrible about the incident and offered to watch the man's dog while he recovered.
